Location
Description
Karmøy is among the last sections of the new Hague urban district, Wateringse Veld. Karmøy owes its name to a Norwegian island, whose architecture served as a source of inspiration for the Hague neighbourhood. The most striking feature is the use of red, blue and yellow colours. The Røye and Gjedde apartment buildings stand as two gatekeepers at the entrance to Karmøy. These complexes have totally separate identities, with sharp pointed roofs and powerful vertical frames around the windows. Both buildings offer a total of 19 starter's apartment. With the Better Buying Scheme of the Staedion housing association, the starter's apartments will be available for at least 10 years to people with low incomes. In addition, another 138 ground-floor homes were built.
