Description
In cooperation with the municipality of Beroun, Bouwfonds Property Development CR accepted a challenge to build single-family dwellings in the historic centre of this Czech city. The assignment consisted of implementing a residential building project of 29 homes close to the historically developed area and the remains of the former fortress works of the king's city. The project also included a new shopping street designed to provide variation in the shopping area of the historic centre. The 29 homes were realised in two blocks that combine to form the new street. The shops were housed on the ground floor. The character of the residential blocks drew inspiration from the traditional historic houses, which were intended for the well-to-do citizens of the 19th century.
